Second call for applications: Efficiency for Access Research and Development Fund

20 June 2019

The Efficiency for Access Research and Development Fund’s second call for applications opens on 19 June! Organisations can visit the EforA Funding page to begin the application process. To be eligible during this second call, organisations must focus on developing an innovative appliance technology or product focused on cooling for use in off- and weak-grid settings, including fans, refrigeration and cold chain. We are making £1m available for this call, with grants available between £50,000 and £200,000.

The fund (received from UK Aid) will be distributed in several rounds to organisations conducting R&D projects that have the potential to accelerate the availability, affordability, efficiency and performance of off-grid and weak grid appliances. Here is a link to the partner toolkit, which contains communications collateral about the Research and Development Fund. We welcome you to share this opportunity with your network.

Efficiency for Access Technology roadmaps

Efficiency for Access’ latest technology roadmaps are live! Both documents identify a series of technology improvements that, if adopted, would enhance the efficiency and performance of solar water pumps and off-grid refrigerators. Their contents will help inform programmes and activities within the Coalition; for example, the off-grid refrigeration roadmap helped guide the refrigeration-cooling R&D call. If you have feedback on the roadmaps, please contact us (shacker@clasp.ngo). We also welcome you to share these documents within your networks.
